Harper Government Supports Expansion Of FGF Brands In Toronto

TORONTO, ONTARIO – FGF BRANDS INC. will be introducing state-of-the-art production lines to its Toronto facilities, thanks to an investment announced by the Honourable Gary Goodyear, Minister for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario, and the Honourable Peter Kent, Member of Parliament for Thornhill. The Harper Government is providing a $1.369-million investment which will allow the baked goods company to increase the production volume and efficiency of its line of healthy, fully baked muffins.

FGF BRANDS INC. has built a strong consumer base in its 10 years operating in the food processing business. The company works out of six locations across the Greater Toronto Area. This investment will allow them to set up automated processing equipment to produce muffins for the retail sector and sweet loaves for the food service industry.

The addition of new equipment will help reduce production time and costs and will advance production capabilities to better meet the needs of a niche market. This funding will also allow the company to expand its line of products for the food service industry. These efforts will ultimately help serve to strengthen the company's competitiveness in global markets.

The repayable contribution is through FedDev Ontario's Investing in Business Growth and Productivity initiative, which is aimed at helping established businesses to expand their operations, invest in productivity improvements and compete globally.
