The Mexico-based international baker Grupo Bimbo has added another Canadian company to its international roster.
CEO Daniel Servitje said yesterday Bimbo closed a deal last week to purchase Toronto-based Italian Home Bakery, a producer of fresh European-style breads and rolls and frozen bread products.
It sells its products to retailers and grocery chains across Canada, doing US $8.5 million annually. Servitje noted the company was small and has only one production plant but “reinforces our presence and production capacity in this part of Canada and the U.S.”
