RINGOES — The Jersey Fresh logo stamped on the jugs of milk sold by Hun-Val Farm near Ringoes is as fresh as the local, single-source milk inside them.
"It's a marketing tool that lets the public know it's a product produced in New Jersey, and held to a little bit higher standard of quality," Hun-Val owner Jared Weeks says.
The new Jersey Fresh certification means a lot to him, because every bit of support helps when you're among the rare breed of small-dairy farmers in New Jersey.
