Floral Sustainability Initiative Members Projects: Intermediate Results

It’s been 8 months since most FSI members projects have started and we are excited to see the first results and share with you the FSI members’ commitment to increase sustainable practises on Key Topics. Proving the ability of FSI members to join their forces and resources, these intermediate results demonstrate their commitment to work on sustainable practices with the FSI 2020 goal of 90% from responsible sources in mind!

Looking back at a busy week during the International Flower Trade Expo (IFTEX) in Nairobi, Kenya, FSI was able to visit and see the advancements of the FSI members’ projects in the area, as described in the articles below.

In Ethiopia, gender and health related trainings to EHPEA member farms have been successful while the companies engaged in the IPM project with Koppert will soon be able to start with biological treatment. On the Afriflora farm, the wetland to treat and re-use waste water is now fully operational and roll-out to all the farm’s greenhouses is being studied.
