Over 40 members of the ABA Food Technical Regulatory Affairs Committee gathered in Washington, DC last week to discuss bottom line food safety and nutrition labeling issues impacting bakers.
Open dialogue with FDA officials on what to expect as the paradigm shifts for FSMA rule implementation for ongoing facility inspections prompted a solution based discussion on how to effectively educate inspectors about baking industry practices. Members also received additional briefings on the new Tufts University Fiber database; updates on nutrition labeling policy; new top trends in baking and grains and a Canadian policy update.
