Chobani Tots and Chobani Kids Greek Yogurt pouches won the World Dairy Innovation award for Best Dairy Product in the Kids Category.
Since 2007, FoodBev Media has organized the World Dairy Innovation Awards held at the Global Dairy Congress – designed to celebrate excellence and innovation across every category of the global dairy industry. The awards categories range from products including Best cheese and Best yogurt, to Best dairy drink and Best functional dairy product; plus categories for brands; ingredients; packaging; design; manufacturing and processing; sustainability; and marketing and communications.
This year, participants from over 30 countries entered to win. To celebrate Chobani’s achievement of the Best Dairy Product distinction, Felix van Brussel, Head of International Business Development, Marketing & Sales, will accept the award on June 24th, 2014 at the Amsterdam gala event.
As the Greek Yogurt market matures and grows increasingly competitive, Chobani is focused on introducing more people to the category by moving into new markets, capturing new age groups and informing new demographics. As such, Chobani made a significant investment in new machinery for Chobani Tots and Chobani Kids Greek Yogurt pouches, Chobani Flip Creations and in form-fill-seal systems for the brand’s core product line – and developed a strategic partnership with Disney – to demonstrate the brand’s continued growth strategy and efforts to reach new constituencies.
Beginning in January 2015, as part of the Disney partnership, for the first time in Chobani brand history, Chobani Kids and Chobani Tots Greek Yogurt Pouches now prominently feature iconic Disney and Marvel characters such as Winnie the Pooh and Spiderman on packaging. This innovation – which has been met with glee from youngsters nationwide – further reinforces how the brand resonates with its young audience.
