Pure Flavor is pleased to announce their three successful wins during the 9th annual R.E.A.C.H. International Greenhouse Competition in Leamington, Ontario this past weekend. For the second year in a row, their Gourmet Baby Mini Cucumbers were awarded for Best Overall Mini Cucumbers and Best Overall Cucumbers. Their newest item which is most popular within their younger demographic, Poco™ Bites cocktail cucumbers, was also awarded with the Kid’s Choice Award.
“We test hundreds of cucumber varieties each year that are available in the marketplace.” said Jamie Moracci, President of Pure Flavor, “It is an incredible achievement to have selected the best cucumber seeds and to have won 3 main categories in the cucumber division.”
Each entry was judged by appearance, flavor profile, crunchiness and freshness by a panel of expert judges represented by produce retailers, agricultural research centers, local chefs, and food writers. The second day of judging is based solely on public opinion.
All funds raised from the Greenhouse Competitions go to R.E.A.C.H. International. This local charity has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to build schools, clinics, drill water wells, sponsor and care for impoverished children in Uganda, Africa.
