The FlowerTrials started off as a small event eleven years ago, with a handful of breeding companies in The Netherlands and Germany taking part in an ‘open doors day’ for a primarily local public. Today, with close to 50 breeders in three prominent floriculture regions doing so and ever more international visitors coming over for the occasion, it is clear that the Trials have become a marked event for the floriculture sector.
The 49 participating breeders, spread out over the Aalsmeer, Westland (The Netherlands) and North Rhine-Westphalia (Germany) regions, include most of the leading companies worldwide. All of them will open their doors between June 9 and 12, to display the latest assortment in pot and bedding plants.
One in four of the pre-registered visitors to the FlowerTrials comes from outside Europe, the organizers indicate, highlighting the global character of the event. Within that segment, the top-five countries are Japan, Russia, Iran, the U.S.A. and Australia.
