Meijer Inc. on June 23 will open its first two Wisconsin stores in Grafton and Kenosha, with additional locations to open in Oak Creek and Wauwatosa in August.
The Grand Rapids, Mich.-based retailer announced the official opening dates on Monday. Its “supercenter” stores, open 24 hours a day, each have around 193,000 square feet, offering groceries, home goods and pharmacies. The retailer’s plans to move into the Milwaukee area were first reported in April 2012.
Meijer has since pushed forward to secure land purchases and local approvals for 10 stores, with future locations planned in Waukesha, Sussex, Janesville, Greenfield, West Bend and Sheboygan.
