Poultry producer Wayne Farms announced Wednesday morning it is expanding its Dothan operation, adding 42,000 square feet to its existing structure and creating at least 500 jobs.
According to a release from the company's headquarters in Oakwood, Georgia, the project should be complete by the middle of next year.
“Wayne Farms is excited for the opportunity to expand our business and bring jobs to the local area. With the rising demand for chicken we have an opportunity to increase our output,” Wayne Farms CEO Clint Owen said in a prepared statement.
