Three Awards For Crave Brothers Cheese At The US Cheese Championships

Waterloo, WI — Crave Brothers Farmstead Classics has earned three new awards, including Best of Class for Fresh Mozzarella, at this year’s U.S. Championship Cheese Competition held March 17 to 19 in Milwaukee. Hosted by Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association for 34 years, the U.S. Championship Cheese Competition is the nation’s largest cheese, butter and yogurt competition. This year’s record-breaking number of 1,885 entries came from 28 states.

Crave Brothers Farmstead Classics was awarded Best of Class in the Fresh Mozzarella category, with a score of 99.15 out of a possible 100 points. This prestigious award marks the 19th time Crave Brothers Fresh Mozzarella has been recognized for its excellence. The fresh, milky cheese comes in pearl size, cherry size, bocconcini, ovoline (egg size), medallions, 8-oz. and 1-lb. balls, and 1-lb. logs. It’s an ideal cheese for flatbreads and pizzas as well as grilled vegetables.

In the Open Class: Flavored Soft Cheeses category, Crave Brothers Farmstead Classics Marinated Fresh Mozzarella earned Second Place, with a score of 99.55 points. To create this cheese, Fresh Mozzarella is marinated in an olive oil/canola oil blend and seasoned with Crave Brothers’ own combination of spices to complement salads, pastas and antipasto plates.

In the String Cheese category, Crave Brothers Farmer’s Rope String Cheese was awarded Second Place, with a score of 99.45. Over the years, this fresh handmade part-skim mozzarella has received a total of 21 awards. It is well suited for shredding and melting. Use it for soup garnishes, creative appetizers and snacks.
