Montchevré Receives Seven Awards Including Best Of Class

Belmont, WI- A dedicated team of Montchevré cheese-makers and dairy goat farmers are celebrating their achievements at the 2015 U.S. Championship Cheese Contest. Montchevré received an impressive total of 7 awards including best of class for its Original Crumbled Goat Cheese and Fresh Goat Cheese with Honey.

Montchevré has been an innovative leader in the industry since it was founded in 1989 by offering high-quality, wholesome products at the very best value. Back in 1995, Montchevré was the first goat cheese manufacturer to crumble handmade goat cheese logs, now a staple to the Montchevré product line as well as supermarkets across the United States.

The team was especially proud of their Original Crumbled Goat Cheese win as it is a true testament to the hard work of their farmers and the quality of their milk. Made from milk collected from 370 local, independent family farms, this crumbled goat cheese has a fresh and clean taste, a well-balanced goat milk flavor and a smooth, soft, and creamy texture.

Montchevré co-founder Arnaud Solandt shares, “After 20 years of making fresh goat cheese crumbles and many prestigious awards, we are thrilled to receive such recognition from the U.S. Championship Cheese Contest. We are looking forward to offering many more new and innovative products that will help grow the goat cheese industry and delight consumers.”

The company’s fresh honey goat cheese was also named Best in Class. The perfectly balanced blend of fresh and mild goat cheese with sweet honey accents is a must-try item.  Other awards for Montchevré’s team included: 2nd place awards for its Pomegranate and Orange Zest Crumbles, Fresh Goat Cheese with Peppadew and 2 lb. Fresh Goat Cheese, as well as 3rd place awards for their Mini Cabrie and 2lb. Rondin with honey.

Montchevré wishes consumers Bon Appetit as they enjoy their crumbled goat cheese in their 6 delicious flavors: Natural (Best in Class), Pomegranate & Orange Zest (2nd place), Onion and Basil, Candied Cranberry, Apricot and Thyme, and Tomato Basil.

The team would also like to congratulate all of cheesemakers that received awards at this year’s competition.
