Jeff Kleinpeter Retires As CEO Of Kleinpeter Farms Dairy

After more than 10 years leading the company, President and CEO Jeff Kleinpeter has retired from his position with Kleinpeter Farms Dairy, effective immediately.

The announcement comes almost three months after Kleinpeter, 56, went on medical leave and less than a month after the dairy officially stopped ice cream production. At the time he announced his sabbatical, Kleinpeter said he expected to return within a month and simply needed a break from the stress of rebuilding a business tasked with quality issues. But he made the decision public Wednesday (March 11) of his retirement.

"Over the course of the previous year, I averaged only about three hours of sleep a night. It was worth it to work with our team and achieve the goal of getting our quality back to 'better than ever' status. Once we accomplished that team goal, I felt like it was time to have a little "Jeff time" and take off and worry about myself for a bit," Kleinpeter said Wednesday in a letter to media.
