CASHMERE, Wash. — Crunch Pak’s fresh sliced apples were served backstage at the Oscars for the third time last night.
The production staff of the 87th Annual Academy Awards asked Crunch Pak if it would provide product again this year for the show’s dressing rooms for host Neil Patrick Harris, presenters, nominees and performers, as well as its executive and production offices.
“We receive these requests on a regular basis from just about every award show and we love to provide our products for the events,” said Tony Freytag, senior vice president of sales and marketing.
Crunch Pak shipped 12 boxes of fresh produce to the Dolby Theater – enough to feed more than 200 presenters and 20 production and executive staff initially – and then was asked to send a second shipment because the first was so popular. Crunch Pak plans to work with the production company on additional award shows in the future including the iHeart Radio Music Awards on March 17.
“It’s fun to watch the award shows and know our products are in the hands of the stars,” Freytag said. “Our products are ideal for how people eat today – even if you’re not a celebrity.”
