Haddon House Food Products is expanding its Richburg, S.C., warehouse to accommodate an uptick in demand for baked goods in its frozen perishables line.
Expected to be completed in May, the expansion will add approximately 27,000 square feet to the distributor’s refrigerated warehouse space.
Haddon House, which has distributed frozen and refrigerated natural, organic, and ethnic foods for more than 20 years, began selling frozen products to bakery departments 18 months ago, says Bill Schultz, vice president of purchasing. In 2014, the distributor’s frozen thaw-and-serve and par-baked breads contributed triple-digit growth to its perishables category.
