CAPITOLA, Calif.- The World Floral Expo 2015, a leading industry event that attracts thousands of attendees and hundreds of exhibitors, has chosen Los Angeles as its host city. As part of the March 11-13 event, CalFlowers has created a 3,000 square feet pavilion for growers and shippers to showcase their wares to retailers, wholesalers and others.
CalFlowers will be joined by the California Cut Flower Commission in offering this unique pavilion to its members at a discounted price. CalFlowers will support the pavilion with marketing and promotion to help drive buyers and business partners to the members’ exhibits.
Jasper van Dijk, WFE, noted, “Los Angeles was chosen for easy travel for visitors and proximity to the area of Californian flower growers. We anticipate that the Los Angeles location will result in increased visibility and California-grown cut flowers and potted plants.”
“This show is unique, for the first time bringing together U.S. and international flower growers. The expo is a great opportunity to show the high quality of California-grown flowers to attendees and offer a more complete supply of non-US grown flowers, such as cut roses,” said Dick van Raamsdonk, WFE.
California-based growers currently provide 80 percent of the U.S. cut flower production and produce a number of potted plant products, including succulents.
“The pavilion will provide a cohesive, branded California flower industry experience and make producers and service providers easy to find on the large expo floor. And, because of the proximity to the growing areas, our growers can demonstrate all of their beautiful products, not just a few as in previous years when the expo was in other locations,” said Michael LoBue, CEO, CalFlowers.
Attendees and exhibitors from North America, Central and South America, and Europe will join CalFlowers members. Attendees can view new flower types, talk to growers about their varied offerings, and meet shippers and other service providers. For more information, go to http://www.cafgs.org/pg/wfe-2015.
