MANKATO — A local cheese company’s flagship cheese was honored at a national awards show last week in San Francisco, owner Keith Adams said.
Alemar Cheese of Mankato was recognized by the Good Food Awards for its Bent River variety, a soft Brie-like cheese that was the company’s first product.
Alemar was competing against cheesemakers in the northwest region, which stretches from Minnesota to Oregon. Three varieties from the region were chosen as winners, in no particular order.
