Nixa, MO – Market Fresh Produce was joined by the Monett Chamber of Commerce to commemorate the completion of the Monett Repacking Facility with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The dedication took place on Wednesday, January 7, 2015.
The facility was acquired from Harlin Fruit Company who has been part of the community for 100 years. Renovations began August 2014 to upgrade the building to a repacking facility. The renovations include state-of-the-art hands free wash and dry room for the employees, LED lighting, new security system, six walk-in coolers, among other items to bring the facility to standards.
“The facility will allow us to service Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma and Arkansas.” Tyler Phipps, general manager, said. “Reworking, ripening, cross-docking and redistribution services will be offered as we are able to handle the rapid growth we expect.”
Long-term, Market Fresh plans to expand the Monett facility’s footprint, the product selection beyond tomatoes to offer all Market Fresh categories and to create a local program for the community. “This is an exciting time in the life of our company,” Steve Phipps, Market Fresh chief executive officer and owner, said. “Having a local facility will provide further research and development opportunities as Market Fresh continues to be one of the most innovative brands in the produce industry.”
