Wisconsin Will Have Beer-Law Battle In 2015 Over Grocery-Store Taps

Known as That Place Where You Can Buy Beer On Sunday, Wisconsin could soon also be That Place Where Grocery Stores Sell Growlers.

WKBT in La Crosse, Wis., reports that the Wisconsin Grocers Association is pushing for a new law that would let customers get beer on tap at supermarkets, letting customers refill 64-ounce glass growlers. About a dozen states nationwide have similar laws.

On-premises drinking would still be prohibited, but the idea is getting some opposition from bar owners, who argue that it's still pushing too close to their turf.
