Irwindale, Calif. – Ready Pac Foods, Inc. is pleased to announce that Cary Okawa was recently named as Ready Pac’s Vice President and Corporate Controller.
In his role, Cary is responsible for the accounting operations of the company and will work closely with Ready Pac’s Chief Financial Officer, Sally Erickson. Cary will ensure quality financial reporting, the safekeeping of accounting records and company assets, and will maintain internal controls and budgets. His accounting and leadership skills will be utilized throughout the Company to deliver continuous improvement in Ready Pac’s accounting operations in terms of efficiency, quality and accuracy.
Most recently, Cary served as Vice President and Corporate Controller at Newport Corporation, a $500M manufacturer of photonics-based technology products for manufacturing, life sciences and research industries. Cary assumed global responsibility for financial reporting, planning and analysis, SEC/GAAP compliance, shared services and enterprise risk management. He oversaw management of Newport’s business unit finance directors, regional shared service directors as well as financial planning and analysis.
Cary joins Ready Pac with over 24 years of finance and accounting experience, having built his skills within companies like Newport Corporation, Ceradyne, Advanced Medical Optics and Tektronix, among others. Within these roles, Cary played a critical role in the financial planning, analysis and process development for each organization.
Cary earned a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Accounting from the University of Hawaii. Upon obtaining his accounting certification, the results of his CPA Exam earned him the #1 ranking in the State of Hawaii.
