Blooming Market Pays Attention To Value Of Assortment & New Co-Operation At IFTF 2014

During the IFTF (5 till 7 November 2014 in Vijfhuizen, the Netherlands) the event Blooming Markets takes place in the Auditorium of the Expo. During the event attention is paid to the value of extra ordinary flowers. “This is organised, because the assortment is the backbone of the Dutch Horticultural Sector”, says Jan de Boer, one of the partners, organizing the event.

Our activities are in the specialist trade. We deliver to florists in Europe in the middle and top segment. In those segments we have to surprise our clients continuously. This can be done with the bread and butter varieties, but even more with the special, new and different varieties. This is one of the reasons Barendsen is part of the Blooming Breeders team. This team consists of breeders who do not only think about genetics and product innovation, but also about the sales of flowers and plants globally”

“That we still have a surprising assortment cannot be considered as normal anymore in the big bulk of global supply. As Barendsen Aalsmeer we started to co-operate with FlorAccess. Through this website growers can show their supply in 16 different languages to the world. In this co-operation 200 small growers with niche supply are connected to the system.”
