Wenatchee, WA 1.20.10 CMI – one of Washington States largest grower/shipper, was the official game night sponsor on December 5ths Wenatchee Wild Hockey game between rivals the Wenatchee Wild and their Robertson Cup nemesis St. Louis Bandits.
During Wilds intermission, CMI and other Wenatchee area apple shippers/growers competed in fun-filled contest on the ice benefiting the Washington Apple Education Foundation. The shippers commissioned two of their finest to represent them. CMIs Mark Hambelton and Tom Bellamy represented CMI in the in the Frozen Apple Face Off, a fast-paced race up and down the ice with each team shuffling a frozen apple back and forth with a Hockey stick before shooting the apple into the net. CMIs marketing manager, Brett Burdsal was the emcee for the event and Bretts wife Kelly Burdsal sang the National Anthem before the game.
Bob Mast, VP of Marketing, helped with the jersey auction in which the Wilds jerseys were auctioned right off the backs of the Wilds Team and signed by the respective players for the winning bidders. CMIs sponsorship, combined with the Wilds support, netted over $20,000 for the Washington Apple Education Foundation.
