For the last years, Guatemala has used the strategy of being in international shows with a national pavilion; this allows us to be known worldwide as an exporter country,

showing quality, safety and competitiveness in each of our products in the agricultural area, as Regina España, Commercial Promotion and Information Manager from AGEXPORT said.

Fresh Summit represents all the sectors of the agricultural industry with the participation of retail supermarkets, importers, exporters, producers, packers, brokers, carriers, wholesalers, suppliers, distributors and food service operators.

Guatemala Fresh is the country brand of the agricultural sector, as a synonym of a varied supply of fruits, vegetables and flowers of the highest quality, safety and social responsibility in the production, as España said.

Guatemala's participation this year will be with a 600 square feet pavilion where a diversity of agricultural products will be shown, there will be as well, the opportunity to promote AGRITRADE Expo & Conference 2015 by providing the invitation to all the international buyers who visit our national pavilion. Guatemala has been an important part of PMA Fresh Summit for the past 27 years.

Guatemala is implementing strategies to support the agricultural sector, and maintain its competitiveness, so exporter companies are applying for certification systems in their production, as required in the target market. In the same way, programs of phytosanitary surveillance and safety control of plant products are being strengthened, to make projects focused on social and environmental responsibility and development of rural communities, among others.

It is important to participate in this event because it is the most relevant fair of fresh products in the United States and it’s a great place, not only to find new marketing opportunities, but also for suppliers of raw materials for the production process, concluded España.

Participation in these events contribute to the country competitiveness and development because they are a platform that provides opportunities and supports the creation of new business contacts for the agricultural sector, promoting business and creating jobs.
