Giant Eagle has aggressive plans to meet the hiring demands for more than 1,000 people at its various store formats.
The company will hold three events to hire new employees from Sept. 19 to 21, where it plans on-site group interviews for bakers, chefs and cashiers, among other positions.
Dick Roberts, a spokesman for the company, said the major hiring campaign by Giant Eagle is in keeping with growth in food retail in general. Giant Eagle's larger stores, more labor intensive Market District stores, along with GetGos and 24-hour operations require the company to aggressively increase its hiring, he added.
