After a busy opening act in Wilmington, Bryan Sikora and his La Fia team are expanding their downtown dominion.
The buzzy bistro celebrated its one-year anniversary in July, and had already outgrown its cozy space along lower Market Street that housed its bakery, restaurant and gourmet-to-go operations. But with the opening of La Fia’s Bakery Annex at 823 N. Market St. this fall, Sikora and head baker Dominic Petruccelli can devote a 1,500-square-foot kitchen space to churning out La Fia breads, rolls and pastries, like cloudlike French gougères.
The annex won’t serve as a retail spot, but will supply the restaurant and La Fia’s growing wholesale business.
