Sprouts Farmers Market, an Arizona-based specialty grocer, has confirmed plans to open its first store in Alabama in early 2015.
The company, known for its fresh, natural and organic food, named Birmingham, along with six other markets that it has targeted for expansion next year. It did not, however, specify the addresses of the stores.
Last year, a Hoover planning official said Sprouts was slated to be part of a shopping center planned at the intersection of Interstate 459 and John Hawkins Parkway in that city. Sprouts did not confirm that report.
