SAN ANTONIO — H-E-B is partnering with the Environmental Defense Fund as its main adviser for seafood products in an effort to offer sustainable seafood and educate consumers about its offerings.
The Environmental Defense Fund will advise the locally based grocer on all fresh, frozen and prepared seafood sold in its stores, including Central Market, the company and the nonprofit EDF said Wednesday.
H-E-B said in a statement that it believes its new partnership with EDF will “solidify” its reputation as a leader in offering sustainable seafood.
