Sprouts Farmers Market, a fast-growing natural and organic grocer based in Phoenix, said sales climbed 20 percent during its second quarter.
Sprouts, which went public more than a year ago, reported $744 million in sales, up from $622 million during the same quarter a year earlier. Driving the growth was strong performance from its current stores and the opening of six new locations.
The company reported income of $30 million, up from $13 million in 2013. On a per-share basis, the company reported 20 cents in the recent quarter, up from 14 cents a year ago.
