The United States Potato Board (USPB) has announced the launch of a new #TopTater social media hashtag campaign and an opportunity for three lucky potato industry members to win their way to Las Vegas this November! Read on to learn more…but first, what is #TopTater?
The goal of the hashtag campaign is to drive new potato conversations among consumers, influencers, chefs and all potato lovers across social media. #TopTater should be used to share any potato-centric moment that makes you go “YUM!” or “Wow!”, whether that’s a beautiful display of potatoes at the grocery store, a gourmet potato side dish, or potatoes in the grill in your backyard. Starting in August, the USPB will be rewarding consumers who use the #TopTater hashtag on social media to share their potato experiences.
U.S. potato industry members are a very important part of launching and sustaining the #TopTater campaign. We encourage you to use #TopTater every time you share potato content on any social media platform, and encourage your friends and family to do the same. Not on Instagram yet? Download the app on your smartphone, set up an account and start sharing your best potato photos with the hashtag #TopTater in your photo caption.
And, best of all, you could win your way to Las Vegas to serve as a cooking competition judge and #TopTater Ambassador at the World Food Championships this November – just by using the #TopTater hashtag effectively on your own social media properties! The USPB will award three lucky industry members with an all-expenses paid trip to Las Vegas. This Trip will include round-trip airfare, hotel room for 3 nights and $50 per diem per day. To be considered, you must email Meredith Myers (meredithm@uspotatoes.com) by October 1, 2014. In your email, include links to your social media properties showing how you have used the #TopTater hashtag. You could be selected to join us in Las Vegas!
