Springer Mountain Farms Launches Local Restaurant Program

MT. AIRY, Ga.– Springer Mountain Farms, a North Georgia poultry producer known for its flavorful chicken with no antibiotics, launches its “Celebrate the Chef” initiative in Charlotte. The program honors the best local restaurants and chefs that serve innovative, delicious selections featuring Springer Mountain Farms chicken.

“Celebrate the Chef” began last year in Atlanta and Nashville, and includes more than 200 well-known restaurants that participate. The successful program continues to impact the communities by encouraging dining locally through its marketing support.

Support components include mobile locator recognition, charity opportunities, restaurant events, quarterly chef’s forum, product supply for restaurant/food-related sponsorships and television appearances that acknowledge Charlotte’s best culinary experts.

“When nearly the entire list of USA Today’s top 10 Atlanta restaurants feature Springer Mountain Farms chicken, it’s a clear sign of the program’s success,” said Dale Faunce of Springer Mountain Farms. “We’re proud to bring this initiative to a market that shares our passion for high quality food and excellence.”

As part of the program, Springer Mountain Farms will select the most talented chefs in Charlotte for its “Celebrate the Chef” Award. The winner is chosen based on his or her established background, exemplary employee training program, community involvement level and commitment to serving the best selections, including Springer Mountain Farms chicken.

Past award winner Chef Chip Ulbrich of Atlanta’s South City Kitchen is a big advocate of the program. “When it comes to food, it’s important that there is integrity, both in the product and how it’s prepared. Springer Mountain Farms chicken has a heritage of humane treatment, all vegetable fed, never administered antibiotics, hormones or steroids, and raised in clean, spacious environments free from predator threat. Those efforts translate into a great tasting chicken with awesome texture and moisture. We don’t have to do much to make the final product shine.”

Previous award recipients include Chef Edgar Pendley of Urban Grub, Chef Chip Ulbrich of South City Kitchen, Chef Linda Harrell of Cibo E Beve, Chef Ron Eyester of Rosebud, Chef Trey Cioccia of The Farm House and Chef Asha Gomez of Cardamom Hill.
