The Hempler Foods Group, known locally for its meat products, will start selling one of its bacon products at 32 Costco stores, including in Bellingham.
The company plans on selling its uncured, no nitrates added bacon in the Costco stores on Friday, July 11 and will be giving out samples at the Bellingham Costco on Sunday, July 13, said Jeremy Schuitema of Hempler's.
Hempler Foods Group, which has a facility in Ferndale, plans on adding other meat products at Costco and hopes to expand into the rest of Costco's northwest region, which consists of 64 stores. Schuitema said the company is in the process of expanding to keep up with demand.
