Gulf Coast Oysters Named 'Official House Purveyor Of Oysters'

The Gulf Oyster Industry Council (GOIC), the leading marketing and promotional agency representing the Gulf Coast shellfish industry which features oysters harvested by the five states bordering the Gulf of Mexico, proudly announces its new designation as “Official House Purveyor of Oysters” to the James Beard Foundation (JBF), America’s preeminent culinary organization which resides in the historic James Beard House in NYC.

“It is quite an honor to partner with the James Beard Foundation, America’s premier culinary organization and have their chefs use Gulf Oysters in their menu planning at the James Beard House,”  said Al Sunseri, representative of the GOIC and part owner of New Orleans’ venerable P&J Oysters. “This special designation is a testimony to the fact that served chilled and raw, or cooked, oysters from the many and diverse Gulf estuaries are America’s best-selling and most versatile shellfish.”
