The Finger Lakes Cheese Trail has announced changes to its trail structure in time for the inaugural Trail-wide Open House on June 7.
Under the new changes, farms fall into one of two categories: destination farms (those with a farm store on premises and open to visitors year-round) and non-destination farms (open year-round but without a farm store on site).
“We changed our structure a little bit this year to make it easier for visitors to understand which farms are open (to visitors) and which ones aren't,” said Lisa Engelbert, who with her husband runs Engelbert Farms, a Trail member destination farm. “Now we have eight farms who've committed to having hours all year so people can feel confident when they head out on the Trail.”
