American Garden Award Announces 2014 Contestants

DOWNERS GROVE, IL – American Garden Award is pleased to announce that the American public will soon be able to vote on their favorite flower from the four entries in the 2014 contest. The four entries are:

  • Celosia Arrabona Red from PanAmerican Seed
  • Cuphea Sirracha™ Violet F1 from Syngenta Flowers
  • Foxglove Digiplexis™ Illumination® Flame  from Cultivaris
  • Petunia  Sanguna® Radiant Blue  from Syngenta Flowers

By early June  the thirty-two public gardens participating in American Garden Award will have all four entries planted and ready for the public to “view and vote” on their favorite. This program is the nation’s only flower popularity contest and is a unique opportunity for the public to vote on a specific flower that they think has the most appeal.

After May 1st (and up until September 30th) there will be three ways to vote:

  1. By texting a given code to a polling number
  2. By going to www.americangardenaward.com and clicking on the flower of choice
  3. By using postage-paid voting postcards located at the garden.

The 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013 winners can be viewed here.
