LUNENBERG, Nova Scotia — High Liner Foods Incorporated (TSX: HLF), the leading North American value-added frozen seafood company, announced that it has won the “Best New Foodservice Product” Seafood Excellence Award at the 2014 Seafood Expo North America for its Flame-Seared GUINNESS® Barbecue-Glazed Atlantic Salmon. The Seafood Expo took place March 16-18 at the Boston Convention and Exposition Center.
The annual Seafood Excellence Award chooses the best new seafood products based on taste, eating experience, packaging, marketing potential, convenience, nutrition and originality. The Flame-Seared GUINNESS® Barbecue-Glazed Atlantic Salmon was selected the winner from among 10 semifinalists, which were previously chosen from a list of 73 entrants.
At its Seafood Expo booth, High Liner Foods exhibited its new GUINNESS® Distinctive Seafood line, which is the first collaboration between High Liner Foods and Diageo, the producer of GUINNESS®, the #1 stout in the world, and the world’s largest producer of spirits. In addition, High Liner Foods also showcased the Ultimate Salmon Burger™ under its FPI brand and its newly launched American Pride Seafood brand scallop line. These foodservice products, along with High Liner Foods’ Sea Cuisine® brand of retail products, were featured at an interactive “innovation table” which allowed visitors to watch videos, read product ingredients, and order samples.
