Intershell International Corp. nearly has completed its move to new digs at the Blackburn Industrial Park, where it is consolidating its receiving, processing and shipping operations formerly housed along the city’s waterfront on both Harbor Loop and Commercial Street.
“It’s been a lengthy, but effective, transition,” Monte Rome, Intershell’s owner and chairman, said Thursday. “We had 12,000 square feet at our Commercial Street operation and now have 55,000 square feet on Blackburn Drive. This will allow us to put our Harbor Loop and Commercial Street operations under one roof.”
Rome said the company is retaining its existing dockage on Commercial Street for receiving lobsters and some other seafood, but that most of its seafood products will be trucked to the new receiving and processing facility the company now owns at 9 Blackburn Drive.
