San Diego, CA – Oster and Associates continues its focus on cause marketing with the launch of their 2014 campaign for Organics Unlimited. The campaign focuses on highlighting the benefits of buying Organics Unlimited bananas, one of which is the commitment to GROW (Giving Resources and Opportunities to Workers). “We are proud and excited to be part of something bigger than ourselves,” says Agency President Bev Oster.
In 2005, Oster and Associates helped to establish the GROW Program for Organics Unlimited, which provides ongoing financial support to farm workers, their families and surrounding communities of the banana growing regions of Mexico and Ecuador. Each box of GROW label bananas, when sold, provides a portion of the profit to these farmers and the community.
Cause marketing, the joint cooperation between a for-profit and a non-profit organization for mutual benefit, is becoming more popular in the United States. In 1990, the total spent on cause marketing in North America was $120 million. In 2013, it reached $1.78 billion. An estimated 70 percent of people prefer to do business with companies that commit to causes, and almost 90 percent of consumers would switch from one brand to another if it were associated with a good cause. Oster and Associates is committed to further its efforts with cause marketing.
Founded in 1986, Oster and Associates is a full-service branding agency with a long history working with local and national produce industry clients such as Farmer’s Best, the California Tomato Commission, and Organics Unlimited.
