Extra-Sturdy iScoop Designed To Meet The Demand By The Ice Cream Industry

Corte Madera, CA – EcoTensil (www.ecotensil.com), makers of the popular, award-winning and greenest tasting utensils on the market, is offering a solution to plastic waste, with the launch of their innovative Eco-iScoop. The iScoop is meeting the demand by ice cream and gelato retailers for a convenient, cost-effective, and green solution for frozen treat sampling that consumers love!

Convenience is key when it comes to ice cream sampling. Servers want a utensil that is easy to use and can be easily passed to customers. Made from sustainable, silky-smooth paperboard, like a milk carton, the revolutionary iScoop is extra sturdy for gelato, ice cream, frozen custard and yogurt, and products with a similarly stiff consistency like fudge. Not only is the iScoop durable, but it makes passing a sample to the customer much easier (see photograph). When placed in EcoTensil’s handsome bamboo dispenser, or other receptacle, the neatly stacked iScoops stand upright for an easy, efficient grab for servers. The round end (the end people eat from) is not touched by the server in this upright position, allowing a sanitary means of passing the iScoop with no need for gloves!

Along with the convenience factor, iScoops are less expensive than compostable sampling utensils and use much less material than plastic spoons. iScoops take up much less space than plastic – 5,000 iScoops fit in the same size box as 1,000 comparable utensils! iScoops are both recyclable and compostable at facilities where milk cartons are accepted.

“I created the iScoop because we were continually getting feedback from ice cream and gelato retailers who were looking for a sturdier version of our popular and efficient EcoTaster,” says Peggy Cross, CEO of EcoTensil. “I’m very excited about the launch of iScoop and how it enables businesses to easily show their customers they care about reducing the amount of single-use plastic accumulating on our planet. It’s crazy how much consumers love these little tasters!”

You can check out the new Eco-iScoop at this year’s Winter Fancy Food Show ~ January 19th-21st at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. iScoop will be featured in the “What’s New” Product Showcase and in the Buyer’s Best Friend Booth #282. Stop by to grab a sample!
