Leading produce supplier HBF International is pleased to announce important changes in leadership roles at the company. The two owners of HBF International, Doug Perkins and Mark Hurst, will be expanding their responsibilities to meet the challenges of future expansion and opportunities within the industry.
Doug Perkins is now CEO of HBF International, overseeing the day-to-day running of the company. Perkins and Hurst became partners in 2011 and established HBF International as a new sales and packing organization to better represent their worldwide grower base. His former role at HBF International included stints as Managing Director and Director of Export Sales.
Mark Hurst is taking on the role of HBF International Research and Development Director, overseeing projects designed to enhance the HBF product line and planning operations for the future. Hurst’s areas of focus are genetics, information technology, facilities and new products. In addition, Mark will continue running the day-to-day growing operations of Hurst's Berry Farm and Hurst's Berry Mexico.
These new roles were announced to the HBF management team at a company planning meeting that took place in November. HBF International looks forward to continued growth of the company with these changes.
HBF International packs and sells a wide selection of the freshest berries, including blueberries, raspberries, blackberries and more. The company represents several different varieties that ripen at different times on farms in Oregon, Washington, California, Mexico, Argentina and Chile allowing them to be a year-round source for fresh berries.
As HBF International enters its next chapter, it remains committed to providing high-quality berries from the world’s top growers, and re-emphasizes its mission: Leadership, loyalty, and excellence in berries from farm to market.
