An aggressive store-remodeling program by Kroger, including at some stores in Columbus, is helping the company boost sales.
Cincinnati-based Kroger recently reported its 40th-straight quarter of increased store productivity. Sales at stores open at least a year grew 3.5 percent from the year-earlier quarter.
“That number shows the productivity of their stores,” said Alida Destrempe, U.S. grocery analyst for Kantar Retail, an industry analyst. “A big part of that (productivity) is probably because of the renovations you’re seeing.”
