AVONDALE, PA – The Kennett Square Merchants Association announced that the Inaugural “Midnight in the Square” Mushroom Drop was a tremendous success. Event organizers were thrilled with the turnout as 4,000 attendees crowded the streets of Kennett as a giant 700 lb. lighted Mushroom came down to ring in the New Year. The food was amazing, and the band rocked the streets late in to the night.
The Mushroom capital was on the top of its game to support the community and kick off 2014. The donations for the Kennett Food Cupboard also poured in, with over 3,000 lbs. of non-perishable food items collected over the night to support their efforts in the community.
Anthony D’Amico, To-Jo’s President added, “A great time was had by all, the Mushroom looked amazing, the turnout was great, people really enjoyed the night. To-Jo was proud to be an integral part of the Inaugural event; New Year’s Eve in Kennett will never be the same”.
