ALPINE TOWNSHIP, MI – Call it Big Apple West.
Heeren Brothers Produce formally opened its new $22 million state-of-the-art processing facility this week with a ribbon-cutting attended by state and local politicians, contractors and neighbors.
“We’ve been very successful in getting this new facility up and running, even in the midst of our busy apple-packing season,” Hal Roy, CEO of Heeren Brothers, said in a news release.
“The new technology has already made us more efficient, allowing us to comply with tighter food safety standards while being a better steward of our natural resources,” Roy said.
