MILL RIVER – The P.E.I. Aquaculture Alliance is playing host this week to the first ever Prince Edward Island International Oyster Conference. It is being held at the Rodd Mill River Resort.
The conference got underway with processor field visits throughout the day Wednesday, and a P.E.I. food showcase and networking reception Wednesday evening.
Several guest speakers are on Thursday’s conference agenda, including Kristin McLaren, interim executive director of Louisiana Seafood Promotions and Marketing, John Sackton, president SeafoodNews.com; Richie Flynn, president European Mollusc Production Association and Sebastien Chantereau, an oyster producer from France.
