CARLINVILLE, IL — The World Dairy Expo and 2013 state fairs have wrapped up and Prairie Farms today announced it received over 130 dairy contest awards – taking top honors in many categories for its high quality milk and dairy products. The World Dairy Expo judging was held in August and 14 trophies were awarded to Prairie Farms on October 1st in Madison, Wisconsin. Throughout the summer, the company won an additional 120 awards in Illinois, Kentucky and Missouri State Fair Dairy Competitions.
The World Dairy Expo Championship Dairy Product Contest, sponsored by the Wisconsin Dairy Products Association, is the only judging contest of its kind in North America, since no other national contest includes all dairy products. There were 820 product entries in 72 dairy categories. Prairie Farms received awards for white and chocolate milk, half & half, whipping cream, yogurt, cottage cheese, sour cream and dips.
"Receiving the World Dairy Expo Awards and state fair ribbons speaks volumes about the dedication of our farm families and employees. The prestigious awards are a reflection of our commitment to quality," said Ed Mullins, Prairie Farms Executive Vice President and CEO. "We’re proud of the role we play in providing families with the finest milk and dairy products available in the United States and I am gratified that our commitment to quality was recognized by the esteemed contest judges.”
