Clifton, N.J. – In a recent letter, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) stated that Butterfly Bakery is "operating in compliance" with applicable regulations.
"This has been a learning experience, and we’re excited to return to serving our customers and honoring their trust," said Brenda Isaac, CEO of Butterfly Bakery. "This letter, and our baking and quality monitoring procedures, mean that customers can have renewed confidence in our delicious sugar free and no sugar added baked goods."
In reaction to labeling errors, Butterfly Bakery voluntarily and temporarily paused operations while Isaac led an overhaul of manufacturing and quality assurance practices to ensure that they meet or exceed FDA requirements.
During this time, several grocery chains nationwide remained committed to carrying Butterfly Bakery products.
"I am tremendously grateful to our distributors and customers," Isaac said. "My mother lives with diabetes, and we are all committed to serving people with special dietary needs who are looking for wholesome baked treats."
Customers who wish to verify the accuracy of the labels on their purchased products may contact Butterfly Bakery’s quality control staff directly at QC(at)thebutterflybakery(dot)com or 973.815.1501.
