Sacramento, CA – This past weekend Trinity Fresh, a local produce distribution company based in the FarmtoFork Capital of America, sponsored Yelp’s Farm to Handle Block Party in the Handle District of Sacramento. Although the event was free to charge to those invited by Yelp donation boxes flanked the entrances and just under $9,000 was raised for Happy Tails, a no kill animal shelter, and WEAVE, a community assistance program. In addition to the money raised all unused produce was donated to the Sacramento Food Bank and Family services.
Yelp holds a yearly “reviewer appreciation” event where users are invited to attend a free party with plenty of complimentary food and beverages. This years theme was Farm to Handle as Sacramento geared up to host many different events for FarmtoFork week.
Trinity Fresh was the primer produce partner and provided massive displays featuring locally sourced fruits and vegetables and a giant CA Grown Banner. "The arch and our display not only represented the products grown in CA, but also our company. We are a CA Grown company, and you all represent our roots." Paul Abess, Trinity Fresh President (thanking all employees for participating). Trinity Fresh employees from many different department volunteered their time to offer attendees panel tastings of melons, pears, peppers, endives and other items grown nearby.
Reviews and photos of the event quickly started coming in on Yelp’s “Community Blog” and Trinity Fresh was by far one of the most mentioned booths. See more about the event here:
