Aalsmeer – Bartels Stek and Biological Industries Ltd (BI) from Israel have signed a long term agreement for the exclusive, worldwide distribution of all Gypsophila varieties by Bartels Stek.
Bartels Stek will take care of worldwide sales, license and marketing activities for all Gypsophila varieties of BI, except for Israel. With this, it will also offer worldwide technical support. From October 1st, all existing license contracts outside Israel will be taken over by Bartels Stek
Based in Kibbutz Beit Haemek,BI has many years of experience in breeding Gypsophila and is known for several successful varieties like Vivo® and Tango®. All plants are cleaned through at own tissue culture laboratories. Both mother plants as well as production cuttings are supplied from their professional nursery. Rudie Cune, marketing manager of BI says: ‘With the agreement, BI expects to have a better worldwide distribution, so growers around the world can benefit better from their genetics.’
The teams of BI and Bartels Stek will work close together to offer customers the best possible service. Testing of all selections will take place both at the facility of BI in Israel as well at the new Bartels Stek trial site in Naivasha, Kenya. The present assortment, including new promising varieties will be displayed at upcoming main events such as Naivasha Horticultural Show (Kenya), Proflora (Colombia) and IFTF (the Netherlands).
