Kemps 'Gallons For Good' Program To Provide Needed School Supplies To 4,000 Children

ST. PAUL, MINN. — With the school year just around the corner and back-to-school shopping in full swing, children around Minnesota and Wisconsin are filling their backpacks with crayons, pencils, pens and paper. Yet an estimated 18 percent of children in Minnesota and an estimated 15 percent of children in Wisconsin are currently living below the poverty line and often cannot afford basic school supplies including paper, folders and notebooks. Today, in partnership with the Kids In Need Foundation, Kemps is kicking off Gallons for Good in an effort to provide needed school supplies to children in Minnesota and Wisconsin.

“Giving back to our communities is a core tenet of our culture at Kemps,” said Rachel Kyllo, vice president of marketing for Kemps. “We know so many people rely on our milk to nourish their families and we want to make sure that nourishment extends by providing children the tools needed to succeed in the classroom.”

From now until September 30, Kemps is committing a portion of every gallon of Kemps Select Milk sold to the Kids in Need Foundation (KINF), up to $40,000. KINF's mission is to ensure that every child is prepared to learn and succeed by providing free school supplies nationally to students most in need.

“We are so grateful to partner with such a phenomenal local company,” shared Dave Smith, executive director of the Kids In Need Foundation. “Through the generosity of Kemps and its customers, the Kids in Need Foundation will be able to provide ample supplies to the children who need it most in Minnesota and Wisconsin."

Kemps, through its customers' commitment and support, plans to contribute $40,000 to KINF which will provide a full year's worth of school supplies to 4,000 children.
