In August, Mayesh Wholesale Florist asked for floral designers across the country to submit a short floral design demonstration video for their Mayesh Design Stars Contest. The company ended up with 22 videos and then narrowed them down to 9 semi-finalists. These nine designers moved onto the voting round in which the public was able to place a vote for their favorite video. Voting took place over a week and now Mayesh can announce the three 2014 Mayesh Design Star Finalists: Beth O'Reilly AIFD TMF, Patience Pickner AIFD PFCI, and Tony Medlock AIFD. Mayesh’s three Design Star Finalists will receive a trip Los Angeles to film their videos and a $1000 gift basket of floral products from Mayesh, Smithers-Oasis, and Syndicate Supply.
The finalists compete throughout next year (2014) to be our 2015 Mayesh Design Star host based on video performance – video views, audience retention, video content and other considerations. That grand prize winner will receive a floral industry related trip (including: air, transportation, and hotel accommodations for two (2) for multiple days & nights depending on show/workshop), along with the benefits of being the 2015 video series host. Another exciting change to Mayesh’s next series is that the 2013 Mayesh Design Star, Jodi Duncan AIFD, will be the 2014 host, working alongside each of the finalists and helping them through the filming process to put their best foot forward.
With almost two full Mayesh Design Star series under its belt, the views are well over 290,000 and growing. “The videos are a great way to connect with the floral design community. We are so excited to be working with Beth, Patience and Tony as they will bring variety and dimension to next year’s floral design series.” says Yvonne Ashton, Director of Marketing for Mayesh Wholesale Florist.
