Hartford Baking Co. has made its mark in West Hartford with scratch-made European-style breads, pastries and high-end coffee. To celebrate its third anniversary, the bakery will donate 100 percent of its proceeds on September 12 to Foodshare, an effort to raise awareness about hunger in greater Hartford.
The anniversary event includes never before seen products, free samples of breads and pastries and a celebratory cake for sharing, said Hartford Baking Co. Scott Kluger in a news release.
The bakery has also announced the opening of its new production facility and company headquarters in Bloomfield, an expansion that allows for greater distribution throughout the state and new wholesale opportunities. The production space at the bakery-cafe on New Park Avenue in Elmwood "maxed out a year ago," said Kluger, and the larger building – with new equipment- will permit staff to try out new product lines like pretzel breads, European rye and laminated doughs.
